Commitment to the Industry

We feel a strong commitment to the sheep industry. Brenda is a past President and is currently Publicity Director of Michigan Suffolk Breeders. She also serves on the Michigan Sheep Breeders Board of Directors and chairs the Youth Committee. Mark is Vice President of Michigan Suffolk Breeders.

We were truly honored to be chosen as the Michigan Sheep Breeders Purebred Producer of the Year in 2001. Michigan Sheep Breeders is one of the largest and most active state sheep organizations in the country and we are proud to be recognized by our colleagues in the industry.

What else do we do?

Both Brenda and Mark have full-time careers away from the farm. Brenda is an Extension Agent and Mark is a carpenter. This makes it essential that the sheep be self-sufficient.

Brenda has written the cooking column in Sheep! Magazine since 1989 and is a wealth of information on cooking with lamb. Her creative recipes have become the favorites of many country cooks.

Suffolk wool known for its loft makes some of the finest quilt batts available. Veteran quilters say the needle goes through these batts like butter and makes quilting a pleasure.
